PRP and mesotherapy are among the gentlest treatments on offer in Turkey's aesthetic clinics — no surgery, no downtime, and a natural feel that appeals to patients wary of fillers. They are popular for tired skin and early hair thinning, and Turkish prices make a full course affordable. The honest headline, though, is that these are gradual, cumulative treatments: one session rarely does much, and results are refreshment rather than transformation.

What PRP and mesotherapy are and how they work

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) uses your own blood: a small sample is spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets and growth factors, which are then injected into the skin or scalp — or applied with microneedling — to encourage repair. Because it is drawn from you, the allergy risk is very low. Mesotherapy delivers a tailored cocktail of vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants and often hyaluronic acid into the mid-layer of the skin (the mesoderm) to hydrate and brighten. Both are frequently used for the face and for hair.

Evidence is strongest for PRP in early pattern hair loss; skin results are real but subtler and vary between people.

Who these treatments suit

  • People wanting a natural, low-risk refresh rather than volume or muscle relaxation
  • Those with early hair thinning looking to support existing follicles, especially with PRP
  • Anyone with dull, dehydrated or tired-looking skin wanting glow and texture
  • Patients who like that PRP uses their own blood with minimal allergy risk
  • People who can commit to a course of sessions, not a single visit
  • Not suitable with certain blood disorders, active infection, or during pregnancy — and mesotherapy cocktails should be discussed carefully

1

Consultation & goals

A practitioner assesses your skin or scalp, reviews your health and sets realistic expectations for a course.

2

Blood draw (PRP only)

For PRP, a small blood sample is taken and spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma.

3

Numbing & injection

Numbing cream is applied, then the plasma or mesotherapy cocktail is delivered by fine microinjections or microneedling. A session takes about 45–60 minutes.

4

Aftercare

You avoid make-up, heat and heavy sweating for 24 hours; mild redness usually settles quickly.

Recovery timeline

  1. Day 0

    Straight after

Expect redness, mild swelling and possibly small pinpoint marks; most people return to normal life the same day.

  2. Days 1–2

    Calming down

Redness fades and any tenderness eases. Keep the skin clean and avoid make-up for the first day.

  3. Weeks 2–4

    First signs

Skin may look fresher and more hydrated; hair changes take longer and are not yet visible.

  4. Months 3–6

    Cumulative effect

After a course, skin quality and, for hair, shedding and density gradually improve.

Results and how long they last

Be realistic: these are subtle, gradual treatments, not a one-session fix. Most protocols need a course of 3–4 sessions, spaced 2–4 weeks apart, with maintenance every 6–12 months to hold the effect. For skin, expect improved hydration, tone and texture rather than dramatic tightening. For hair, PRP is promising and reasonably well-studied for early pattern hair loss, but it works best on follicles that are thinning rather than long gone, and it does not regrow bald areas. Results build over months and fade without upkeep.

Suggested stay in Turkey

Choosing a clinic safely

  • Confirm treatment is carried out by a doctor or qualified medical professional under sterile conditions
  • For PRP, ask about the closed, sterile kit and centrifuge used — hygiene is essential when handling blood
  • For mesotherapy, ask exactly what is in the cocktail and that ingredients are approved and appropriate
  • Expect a recommended course and maintenance plan, not a promise of dramatic one-session results
  • Be wary of clinics claiming PRP can regrow fully bald areas or replace medical hair-loss treatment
  • Check reviews and confirm who provides follow-up between sessions if you travel back and forth

Watch the hygiene and the hype

Because PRP involves drawing and re-injecting blood, sterility is non-negotiable — insist on single-use, closed kits and a medical setting. With mesotherapy, the biggest red flag is an unregulated 'cocktail' with undisclosed ingredients; always ask what is being injected. Finally, be sceptical of any clinic promising instant or dramatic results from a single session, or claiming PRP will fully reverse advanced hair loss. It will not.

Medical disclaimer

This guide is general information, not medical advice. Whether PRP or mesotherapy suits you, the right protocol and the contents of any cocktail depend on your health, skin and goals, and can only be decided in a personal consultation with a qualified practitioner.

PRP and mesotherapy reward patience. They nudge your skin and hair in the right direction over a course of sessions — anyone promising a dramatic overnight change is overselling a gentle treatment.
